Janmashtami
Janmashtami was celebrated on 14th August 2017 to mark the birth of Lord Krishna. Stories of Krishna's birth were narrated and songs sung. Clay pots were decorated and filled with packets of goodies like kurmura (puffed rice), candy sugar, battassa (flat sugar candy), flowers, confetti and smileys. The pots were then hung on decorated strings. Though the pot is broken to  procure the goodies, we tilted the pot and scattered the goodies. Independence Day
On Tuesday 15th of August, we celebrated India's 70th Independence Day. It began with students, parents and alumni viewing the unfurling of our Indian flag. Our hearts swelled with pride  when looking at the fluttering tricolour. Speeches recalling the struggles faced by our ancestors were delivered by students. They also spoke about the revolutionary change and progress that we as a nation have seen. A patriotic song was then sung that evoked a plethora of feelings in the audience. The programme ended with a mesmerising dance. Students of class VIII organised the whole show with the help of their teachers.
